Bio...
Joseph Bell’s debut album Exploding Stars arrives August 2025, marking the next chapter in his journey
from Shrewsbury open mic nights to sold-out London shows. His dreamy alt-pop blends the
genre-bending energy of Dominic Fike, Lorde, and James Blake with the noughties guitars and
hip-hop-tinged pop he grew up on.
Joseph’s debut EP Dancing Days (2020) caught the attention of BBC Introducing, with BBC Shropshire’s
Michaela Wylde calling it “a musical bubble-bath for the soul.” His track Overload was later played on
Scott Mills’ BBC Radio 1 show. He has since performed at iconic London venues including Ronnie Scott’s
and the Troubadour, building a loyal audience both live and online.
A darker, more introspective sound emerged on his second EP Hits, exploring themes of identity and
growing up in the social media age. In 2024, Joseph recorded a live session for BBC Introducing
(released on iPlayer) and became one of the first “Creatives in Residence” at City University’s new School
of Communication and Creativity. Following sold-out shows at the Hope & Anchor and The Waiting Room,
singles from Exploding Stars have already been championed by BBC Introducing, Voices Radio’s Jodie
Bryant, and Amazing Radio.
